San Lorenzo Sewage Lift Station

The San Lorenzo Sewage Lift Station is a project with The City of Santa Ana and Construction Manager Butier Engineers.

Project highlights

  • Constructed shoring system of sheet piling 50’ deep.
  • 700 Lf of 2 side by side 10” C900 PVC Force main from Sewage Lift Station to existing manhole.
  • 800 Lf of 15” VCP pipe 18’ deep within a major intersection and numerous existing utilities.
Challenges

The project site footprint was very small for the construction of Sewage Lift Station, which was 40’ x 40’ and 32’ deep. The project also required dewatering, and working around high volume traffic.

Solution

We Installed 3” pumps 6’ below bottom elevation of sewage lift station and agency allowed discharging ground water in near-by existing sewer manhole. We also worked at night during light traffic hours to eliminate interruption to morning and evening rush hours.

Outcome

We minimized interruptions to traffic, and kept the project on schedule and on budget.
